REVIEW: Ted

The politically incorrect, foul-mouthed laughs start in the opening moments of Seth MacFarlane’s big screen debut and they keep on coming ‘til the end; with a little sweetness thrown into the recipe.  But mostly: think “Family Guy’s” Stewie as a come-to-life teddy bear in a bromance. MacFarlane voices ‘em both and is ridiculously funny.

The story begins with the friendless child John Bennett getting his Christmas wish that his brand new teddy bear come to life as a bff.  A grown-up Mark Wahlberg plays it straight as the man-child torn between Ted and the love of his life: a growingly exasperated Mila Kunis.

While the f-word and ethnic and sex jokes fly fast and furious, there’s a wry smartness in MacFarlane’s comedy. For boomers: think a horny, pot-loving, R-rated Archie Bunker.
