(WENN) - Rapper Flo Rida has been ordered to pay more than $80,000 to an Australian promoter after failing to honor a concert commitment there last year.

Flo, born Tramar Dillard, was due to perform at the Fat as Butter music festival in Newcastle in October but he pulled out at the last minute, citing "unforeseen circumstances."

Mothership Music concert promoter Brent Lean launched a legal battle against the hip-hop star in a bid to recoup the firm's lost funds, alleging the company splashed out $50,000 to guarantee the rap star's appearance, according to TMZ.com.

And on Friday New South Wales Judge Judith Gibson ruled against Flo Rida, and insisted he should pay $82,540 in damages.
