Giovanni "Chyldz" Ruiz, a Harlem native, was born in 1989 in the Bronx. He started rapping and writing at the tender age of 10 with his cousins. He learned how to play the guitar, flute, and piano and applied that to his interest in music. He soon began composing and producing his own songs and making videos with his cousins. Chyldz began to realize that this was more than just a hobby, it was a passion. In high school, a teacher was so impressed with Chyldz's talent that he installed music into the curriculum for those who possessed attitude and drive towards music like Chyldz. Chyldz rose above his class and went to the Institute of Audio Research (IAR) and got his certificate in Audio Recording & Production. After graduating, Chyldz realized that in order to pursue his dream of becoming a rapper, he needed to be dedicated. He began to write more and found a "flow" that best suited his persona. Now Chyldz is on his way up the ladder of the music industry and breaking the barrier of typical "Harlem" music, reaching out to everyone with songs we can all relate to.
